I made a quick trip to a thrift shop today to find an album with Auld Lang Syne. I did not have any luck. So a quick Youtube share will have to suffice for this year. Hope you all enjoy a great year in 2013 and as a famous Vulcan once said... Live long and prosper!

How to CB
How to CB. 500 CB Terms for quick on the road reference. Here we have an album from Pickwick dated 1976. I found this one at a Salvation Army Thrift shop for 50 cents. By listening to this record and studying the included pamphlet, you would be fluent in CB slang in no time! Back in the 70s it was just as cool to show off your new CB radio as it is today to show off your new Iphone or Android. I found an emergency CB Radio at a flea market for a couple of bucks and it works great. i keep it in the trunk of my car so I can communicate when the grid goes down! You can listen to this album in it's entirety on the Youtube links below!

The allure of vinyl
You can find old vinyl albums easily at thrift shops, flea markets and garage sales. They have a unique sound, are collectable and best of all they are usually dirt cheap. I rarely pay more than a dollar for an album. So what kind of records do I buy? Novelty albums, holiday records, soundtracks and just plain weird records. I picked up this turntable at a greatly reduced price and will be using it to rip and share with you. So welcome to Vinyl Vortex and thanks for stopping by!
